PARA 0273 - Emergency Medical Care

Emergency Medical Care introduces the paramedic student to commonly encountered illnesses and non-traumatic emergencies. Focus will be placed on neurology, endocrinology, immunology, gastroenterology, nephrology, toxicology, infectious disease, psychiatric and behavior disorders, and obstetrics/gynecology. Instruction will integrate assessment findings with principles of epidemiology and pathophysiology to formulate a field impression and treatment plan. Three hours of lecture per week. Three hours of lecture per week. Course Charge: $45.00 Health Science Program Charge, $160.00 Emergency Medical Care Course Prerequisites: Completion of PARA 0251, PARA 0252, PARA 0253, PARA 0254, PARA 0255, and PARA 0370 with a C or better. Co-requisites: BIO 0121, PARA 0255, PARA 0272 and PARA 0390.
