PARA 0272 - Traumatology


Spring 4 Credit Hours
Traumatology details the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of trauma. Albeit trauma is a surgical disease, and in many instances definitive care must be provided in the operating room, there is a significant amount of care that can be provided by pre-hospital personnel to help reduce both morbidity and mortality. This course addresses various types of trauma based on the body systems involved. Instruction will integrate assessment findings with principles of epidemiology and pathophysiology to formulate a field impression and treatment plan. Four hours of lecture per week. Four hours of lecture per week. Course Charge: $60.00 Health Science Program Charge Prerequisites: Completion of PARA 0251 , PARA 0252 , PARA 0253 , PARA 0254 , PARA 0255 , and PARA 0256  with a C or better.

  Co-requisites: BIO 121, PARA 255, PARA 273 and PARA 390.
