CJ 0415 - Forensic Death Investigations Demand 3 Credit Hours A survey of current advances in the medicolegal field. Precise topics to be announced. For upper division majors in CJAD or those who have completed an A.S. degree in law enforcement. Prerequisites: Permission of instructor. An in-depth analysis of medicolegal investigative practices, postmortem changes, cases, and types of deaths. Topics include forensic death investigation protocol, examination of scene and decedent evidence, external wounds and trauma, field factors and circumstances useful to help determine the cause, manner and mechanism of death, and guidelines for the application of pathology to medicolegal investigations. This course includes a cadaver lab component.
