ACCT 0431 - Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination


Spring 3 Credit Hours
Teaches skills in forensic accounting techniques, including gathering, interpreting, and documenting evidence. Students examine the investigative techniques used by accountants to conduct forensic examinations as well as the common schemes and techniques used to commit fraud. Students also study techniques in detecting, investigating, documenting, and preventing fraud. Other topics include economic damages and business valuations. The course also introduces the many professional opportunities available to forensic accountants. Prerequisite: ACCT 312 or ACCT 321 with a ‘C’ or higher.
