SW 0396 - Crisis Services and Intervention Strategies


Fall, Spring 3 Credit Hours
An analysis of services and helping process related to crisis interventions in various practice settings and respect of diverse populations. The purpose of the course is to familiarize the student with crisis continuum of care, crisis theories, and foundational skills for crisis services. Will emphasize knowledge from a trauma-informed lens and importance of developing self-care plan for vicarious trauma. Prerequisite: Grade of ‘C’ or above in any of the following courses: SW 231, PSY 100, SOC 110, CJ 100.
