SOC 0221 - Marriage and Family Demand 3 Credit Hours A review of the social scientific literature associated with making choices about marriage, family and relationships in contemporary society. We explore gender, sexuality and love in the context of marital and non-marital lifestyles. We analyze making decisions about parenthood and raising children in a diverse society. Along the way we identify issues of interpersonal communication, power and violence, and family stress, crisis and resilience. Also included is a module on divorce and coverage of remarriages and stepfamilies.
