EDUC 0304 - The Exceptional Student Fall, Spring & Demand 3 Credit Hours Designed for 1-6 Elementary, 5-9 Middle School and K-12 Art, Music, Foreign Language, ECE, TESOL and Special Education majors. A series of awareness experiences dealing with the added complexities an exceptional child presents to K-12 regular and special education teachers. This course emphasizes methods of meeting the diverse educational needs of today’s K-12 students through techniques of teaching, unit construction and daily planning. Includes characteristics of the exceptional child, resources in the community and legislation which determines school policy. Prerequisite: PSY 0100 ; take prior to or concurrent with Junior Block classes.
