CHEM 0302 - Organic Chemistry II Fall & Spring 5 Credit Hours A continuation of CHEM 0301 . Primary emphasis is on more in-depth study of the properties, nomenclature, synthesis, reactions, and reaction mechanism of both aliphatic and aromatic compounds that were presented in Chemistry 301. The functional group approach is used. Organic spectroscopy is discussed in detail as related to the identification of functional groups and molecular structure. Four lectures and one 3-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisite: CHEM 0301 with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
