EDUC 0622 - Content Area Literacy Summer 3 Credit Hours Students will explore and apply a variety of research-based and classroom-tested instructional strategies and learning activities designed to integrate a holistic approach to content area literacy (reading, writing, and conversation). Topics include content area vocabulary development; identifying content-specific reading materials; designing activities for reading, writing, and conversation scaffolding, and utilizing strategies and activities for lesson differentiation. This course is required for students in the Master of Arts in Teaching program and can be taken as an elective by students in the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction program.
