PARA 0273 - Emergency Medical Care Spring 3 Credit Hours Emergency Medical Care introduces the paramedic student to commonly encountered illnesses and non-traumatic emergencies. Focus will be placed on neurology, endocrinology, immunology, gastroenterology, nephrology, toxicology, infectious disease, psychiatric and behavior disorders, and obstetrics/gynecology. Instruction will integrate assessment findings with principles of epidemiology and pathophysiology to formulate a field impression and treatment plan. Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: Completion of PARA 251, PARA 252, PARA 253, PARA 254, PARA 256, and PARA 370 with a “C” or better. Co-requisites: PARA 255, PARA 272 and PARA 390. Three hours of lecture per week. Course Charge: $45.00 Health Science Program Charge Prerequisites: Completion of PARA 0251 , PARA 0252 , PARA 0253 , PARA 0254 , PARA 0255 , and PARA 0256 with a C or better. Co-requisites: PARA 0275 and PARA 0370 .
