ESL 0093 - Level 5: Advanced Reading

Fall & Spring 3 Credit Hours
This course prepares students for the intensive reading requirements of a university classroom. Various forms of academic texts are analyzed with objectives of improving reading comprehension through identifying authors’ writing styles and communicative intents. Additional emphases are placed on building vocabulary, taking notes while reading, and incorporating reading as a necessary study skill. Concepts of reading for various styles of exam questions is also discussed. Course Charge: $36.00 Eng Secnd Lang Spec Course Chg Prerequisite: ESL 0083 or placement test for new admits.
