DH 0300 - Community Dental Health Education Fall 3 Credit Hours Fundamentals of teaching and learning theories. Development of teaching units and lesson plans for various public groups and/or organizations, practical experience in public schools and community groups with experience in providing dental health education to the public. This course is designed to increase student knowledge of concepts of community dentistry and dental epidemiology that is used in population based health care. Students are allowed to critically evaluate biostatistics, scientific literature, dental care delivery and mechanisms for financing dental care. Three (3) hours of lecture per week and eight (8) hours of field experience during the semester. Course Charge: $45.00 Health Science Program Charge Prerequisites: DH 0190 and DH 0210 with a ‘C’ or higher.
Co-requisites: DH 0290 , DH 0295 , DH 0315 , DH 0320 , and DH 0340 .
