CHEM 0400 - Elementary Physical Chemistry Spring 4 Credit Hours A macroscopic approach to the understanding of chemical and physical properties of chemical systems is used. The principles of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics, and their application to aqueous solutions, will be emphasized. Solution equilibria, spectroscopy, and transport processes will also be examined. Prerequisite: CHEM 142 with a ‘C’ or better and PHYS 162 or PHYS 290 with a grade of “C” or better. Three lectures, one 3-hour laboratory per week.
