- Upon completion of SPAN 102, students will take the Assessment of Performance towards Proficiency in Language (ASAPPL).
They are expected to achieve a minimum score of N-3 (Novice-3) in at least three of the four skill areas: interpretive listening,
interpretive reading, interpersonal listening, and presentational writing. This benchmark will reflect their ability to
communicate at a novice-high proficiency level, as defined by ACTFL standards.
- Upon completion of SPAN 204, students will take the Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages
(AAPPL). They are expected to achieve a minimum score if I-1 (Intermediate-1) in at least three of the four skills areas:
interpretive listening, interpretive reading, interpersonal listening, and presentation writing. This benchmark will reflect their
ability to communicate at an intermediate-low proficiency leve, as defined by ACTFL standards
