The Master of Science in Management program is designed for working adults who are looking for an opportunity to expand their knowledge of management and human resource management. Though the degree is specifically designed for individuals who do not have an undergraduate business degree, we welcome anyone with a bachelor’s degree in any background.
Program Admittance Requirements
The Master of Science in Management is open to students holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited college or university or recognized equivalent international university, with a 2.75 GPA (or higher) on a 4.0 scale for their last 60 hours of coursework, OR a combined score of 300 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Records Examination or minimum score on the GMAT (Business students only) of 450.
This degree is not designed for students with undergraduate business degrees. To apply for this program, students need to complete the online application and fulfill all requirements outlined on the Application for Graduate Admission for the Master of Science in Management.
These include:
- Payment of the application fee
- Providing official transcripts of undergraduate work showing bachelor’s degree(s) earned
- Providing a current resume
- Providing a personal goals statement
Students can enter the program in August for the Fall semester, or January for the Spring semester.
Completed applications for admission should be filed with the Admissions Office no later than July 15th for fall admission, and December 1st for spring admissions. The early admissions deadline for fall admission is May 1st and October 1st for spring admission.

Provisional Admittance
Students who do not meet the regular program admittance requirements may be considered for provisional admittance due to special circumstances, such as the difficulty of their undergraduate degree program, or, demonstrated evidence of significant career achievement. In some cases, a GMAT or GRE test score may be recommended to assess the potential for success in the program. Provisional admission will be granted for up to two consecutive semesters. Students who are provisionally admitted must earn a minimum of a B grade in each course or their provisional admission can be revoked. Regular admission will be granted upon departmental approval.

Learning Goal 1: Graduates of the Master of Science in Management will be knowledgeable in management
Learning Goal 2: Graduates of the Master of Science in Management will be able to communicate business information effectively.
Learning Goals 3: Graduates of the Master of Science in Management will be able to apply ethical frameworks to analyze and solve business problems.
Learning Goal 4: Graduates of the Master of Science in Management will be able to collaborate in teams effectively.
Learning Goal 5: Graduates of the Master of Science in Management will be able to analyze business situations using quantitative methods.
The Master of Science in Management is a 30-hour program. As a Mast of Science in Management, you may choose a program of study in management by completing the core curriculum (21 hours) and then pursuing the general management emphasis (9 hours). This study path is designed for students preparing to move into leadership roles with their current organization or seeking to move into a new career field.
The MSM program also offers a focused track of study in Human Resource Management (9 hours). The Human Resource Management programs at the Plaster College of Business have been recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management and coordinate with professional certification requirements.
