ART 0328 - Casting for Jewelry and Metalsmithing

Demand 3 Credit Hours
Studio course utilizing the “lost wax technique”; wax carving, non-ferrous metal-casting and finishing processes of fine art jewelry and metalsmithing. Techniques such as wax modeling, investment molding, vacuum investment casting and finishing processes are employed to create small-scale functional and/or non-functional objects. Six (6) studio hours per week. Prerequisite:ART 0205  or ART 0341  or ART 0339  or permission of instructor.
