EDUC 0380 - Second Language Acquisition Spring 3 Credit Hours This course explores the foundational theories, concepts, and research in second language acquisition (SLA). Students examine major SLA theories and theorists including Krashen, Vygotsky, and Chomsky. The course highlights differences between first and second language acquisition and outlines the stages of second language development. Learners will investigate the cognitive, social, and affective factors that influence SLA, including age, motivation, and learning context. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing.
