EDUC 0424 - Content Area Literacy II: Secondary/Middle School Interventions

This course is a continuation of EDUC 422 Content Area Literacy I. Secondary and Middle School education majors will design differentiated lessons using a variety of research-based and classroom-tested learning activities to integrate a holistic approach to content area literacy. Students will be able to analyze assessment results to identify appropriate alternate reading options, match students with appropriate texts, and identify instructional interventions for students with reading comprehension and writing deficits. Students will also design reading, writing, and conversation activities for students requiring remediation and enrichment. Prerequisite: EDUC 0422.
