NURS 0451 - Innovation in Nursing and Healthcare


Fall, Spring 4 Credit Hours
This course will depict current ideas of innovation in nursing and healthcare using an evidence-based approach. Innovation, its impact, and how to create a culture of innovation in healthcare acting upon entrepreneurship is presented. An introduction to various leadership mindsets, diffusion of innovation theory, asking the clinical question, and emerging trends in healthcare innovation are presented. Prerequisites: admittance to the RN to BSN nursing program, minimum GPA of 2.8, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Missouri OR compact state, Pre-requisite nursing courses as listed in the admission section of the catalog; NURS 431and NURS 437 with a grade of ‘C’ or higher.
