NURS 0444 - Applied Pathophysiology and Pharmacology for the Nursing Professional Fall, Spring 4 Credit Hours This course integrates established nursing knowledge of pathophysiology to that of pharmacology interventions as distinguished in the practice of a professional nurse. Using the clinical judgement model, the course will attempt to focus on central concepts of pathophysiology/pharmacology for the following: mechanisms of self-defense, neurological system, endocrine system, hematologic system, cardiovascular/pulmonary system, and multiple interacting systems (shock, multiorgan failure, and burns). Prerequisites: admittance to the RN to BSN nursing program, minimum GPA of 2.8, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Missouri OR compact state, Pre-requisite nursing courses as listed in the admission section of the catalog; NURS 431 and NURS 437 with a grade of ‘C’ or higher.
