INTS 0317 - Middle Eastern History

Demand 3 Credit Hours
During the semester we will examine the roots of the conflicts in the Middle East and the long history of the wars and controversies that have enveloped the nations in that area of the world. This course is designed to give the student an entry point into understanding the immensely complicated political tensions, military CONFLICTS and disputes between the countries of the Middle East. The roots of regional conflicts are attributed to the rise of Zionism and ARAB nationalism towards the end of the 19th century. This conflict that embroils the Middle East is continues today and is a basis for much hatred and misunderstanding on the world stage. We will also examine how the world has come to view this divisive conflict and we will evaluate how we can come to terms with any progress in achieving any type of peace in the Middle East.
