GEOG 0304 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems Demand 3 Credit Hours Geographic Information Systems, GIS, involves the study of spatial (geographic) location of features on the Earth’s surface and the relationships between them. The goal of this course is to introduce students to the principles of cartography and GIS as they are used to analyze spatial aspects of society and the human and physical environments. Particular attention will be focused on ecology, environmental health, and related fields. Prerequisite: Junior standing or consent of instructor.
